creeding to john boehner's authority, let be john boehner negotiate this deal. all speculation he will not get involved in the same level. certainly he will be briefed and make his opinions known but he's not going to try to tell john boehner you cannot get this through the conference. look at it from a broad perspective, from folks i've spoken to, eric cantor is thinking like this -- general belief and consensus is if the gop wants to get in 2014 that boehner will most likely walk away in 2016. if cantor can be a dutiful lieutenant until then he could until 2016 if the house republicans win with redistricting and the margins they have which looks possible, he could achieve his dream of becoming the first jewish speaker of the house. no reason to try to ascertain and go higher up like he did in 2011 which left a negative impression of him in a lot of folks' opinions. it's going to be interesting to see if he, in fact, does stay back and credes to boehner's authorities. from all the conversation that's what he seems to be doing. >> i love the mixed messages here.

i missed some of the comments that john boehner made. let me give you a quick summary of the highlights here, and let's call them highlights because finally kumbaya. hope it lasts. the senate majority leader harry reid suggested both of us, we're both going to have to give up what we want and call this the cornerstone of working something out. that sounds good. then nancy pelosi, the house minority leader, saying that this has to be about cuts. this has to be about revenue. this has to be about growth and that she is confident a solution is in sight. sounds good, too. and then the house minority leader or rather the minority leader mitch mcconnell also suggesting that this was a constructive meeting and that we are prepared to put revenue on the table. they just emerged from the meeting. looked like they were going right back in. maybe they were going to have lunch. i don't know. they sure deserve it if they're able to come to rhetoric like that any any case. take to you break for a moment and hopefully i can scramble up wolf blitzer. gi

if you listen closely to what speaker boehner said, he also left the door open a little bit. can they get this all done in the lame-duck session? no, they cannot. can they get a little bit done what they can get the broader tax reform and spending controls done in a way that gives confidence to the ceos in this room? yes, they can do that. but the question is will they do it. >> so if you could give him one -- he did the president on the phone for two minutes and give them one piece of advice on what he has to do to get this deal done -- what would be? >> boy, i don't know. that's a tough question. i think i would tell him that he needs to spend more time with the leadership on both sides of the congress. and each open up the white house and invite more of the members of both houses and. a little bit more getting to know each other. that is not his nature. he is really introverted, to be quite frank. but he needs to reach out and

thank you. >> so now that we have accepted even in boehner land that obama care is the law of the land, do you think that this will make the american health care system better? >> absolutely. i think that we are entering a period of time where we can get down to the very hard work that needs to be done to improve the health care of nation. and now that we are past the election and all sides agree that the affordable care act is the law of the land it gives the patients in the country, this country a much greater deal of certainty and security that our health care system is going to be there for them if they need it. >> well, arkoosh i think in addition to the fact we live in a nation where we're taxed for merely existing, there are still some people who aren't decided about obama care. in fact, politico had exit polling after the election showing the country's split down the middle on whether obama care should be repealed, partially or interly or kept.
